Open It! Beer Review: Red Horizon by Nøgne Ø

Nøgne Ø is a brewery that also makes sake. That comes into play when making Red Horizon, a beer made with sake yeast No. 7. Apparently if you are into sake, No. 7 is something special. This created a beer that has both beer and sake characteristics. Red Horizon comes in a small (8.25 FL OZ) bottle which is inside a tin can.
Tasting Notes:
Poured a nice redish orange hue with a fizzy head which dropped quickly and left lacing. Sweet malt notes, alcohol and lighter fruit smells. There are notes off molasses on the tongue with stone fruit flavors and a hint of vanilla. This beer is full-bodied with low carbonation and at 17% ABV, drinkable.
