Bourbon County Brand Stout Shortage?
Posted by SmallTimeDrinker in Quick News on November 25, 2011 8:41 am / 3 comments
I just received this in an email from one of Binny’s beer buyers:
Just wanted to drop you guys a quick line, and let you know that Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout has arrived. There is a lot less of it this year than there has been in past years, so we have to limit sales to Two Bottles per person. It will not be on the sales floor, so please ask our staff for availability.
If the whole ABinBev takeover was supposed to increase capacity, then why is BCBS in short supply? This is their premier beer, or at least I thought it was. I welcome your theories.

Are they charging more? If they are they could be limiting supply to increase price and create more revenue.
It’s a shortage tactic. The’re doing a small release first to increase hype, followed by a large release in early 2012.
Still doesn’t mean I don’t want my BCBS now! I’ll stand in line for it.
They sent most of it to other markets. InBev doesn’t care about Goose’s former Back Yard.
