Simply titled Beer!, this is a tracking app for the beer lover who keeps precise records about their consumption. The app tracks the following:
- Style (from an extensive pre-populated list)
- Rating, on a five point scale
- Notes
- How the beer was packaged (bottle, tap, can)
- Number of beers consumed
- ABV
- Price
- Brewer
- State
- Country
- A photo of the beer, taken by you
Why I Like This App
Searching through the app to see if you have tried a beer is easy and a great feature. You can also check out recent uploads from other users. You can also add in any beer, including your best friend’s homemade brew. Another great feature of this app is the ability to export your data to a .csv file or to their server to download on another phone.
How This App Could Be Better
I wish this app pulled information from a central database. It has the ability to add in a lot of information, or as little as you want. Much of the information is standard and could be populated, or at least pulled from others’ reviews.
Drink or Not?
Try this app – it has a lot of potential. Finding a tracking app that works for you is tough, but this one might work for you.
Techie Stuff
This app was tested on an iPhone 4 on Verizon Network on November 23, 2011. At the time of testing the app was up-to-date.
