A Google search engine for beer?

Overview
When I downloaded “Beer Review” for iPhone, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have been looking at a lot of apps over the past few weeks and they all seem to be different. The first user interface page is clear and simple: a search box that allows you to search by beer / brewery. I soon learned this app doesn’t have any original content but rather searches www.beeradvocate.com and ratebeer.com for review information. Major downside? You can’t search both sites at once. Neither of these websites have a mobile interface, so Beer Review simply pulls up their website.
Beer Advocate currently doesn’t have an app. Major disappointment. It is such a great website with awesome content and would be perfect for an app. Rumors say one is being developed but it has been years in development.
Rate Beer has partnered with Taplister to develop an app.
So App Worth Having?
I suppose it is easier to use this app to search for a beer than to pull up Beer Advocate or Rate Beer’s website. But in all seriousness, this app does not have original content and is simply a user interface. A good app by Beer Advocate would make this app as extinct as a dinosaur.
Techie Stuff
This app was tested on an iPhone 4 on Verizon Network. This app was downloaded on October 26, 2011 for free.
